Installing Flexi Kanban in Salesforce Org
This guide will walk you through the process of installing the Flexi Kanban managed package from the Salesforce AppExchange into your Sandbox and Production environments. Flexi Kanban is a 100% native Salesforce application, which means it integrates seamlessly with your Salesforce data without the need for external service integrations.
Step 1: Installing from AppExchange
To begin, you will need to get the Flexi Kanban package from the Salesforce AppExchange. You have two easy ways to find our listing:
Direct Link: The simplest way is to use our direct listing link.
Search on AppExchange: Alternatively, you can:
Navigate to the Salesforce AppExchange.
In the search bar, type "Flexi Kanban" and press Enter.
Select the "Flexi Kanban" listing from the search results.
Once on the listing page, click the Get It Now button. You may be prompted to log in to your Trailblazer.me account if you are not already. Choose the Salesforce org where you want to install the package (either a Sandbox or Production org) and follow the on-screen prompts.
Step 2: Select "Install for Admins Only"
During the installation process, you will be asked to choose the installation type. It is crucial to select Install for Admins Only. This ensures that initially, only users with the System Administrator profile will have access to the package. This allows you to configure the necessary permissions before granting access to other users.
Step 3: Assigning Permission Sets
Once the installation is complete, you will need to assign permission sets to your users based on their roles. This step is essential for granting the appropriate level of access to Flexi Kanban's features.
Flexi Kanban Admin: Assign this permission set to users who will be responsible for creating, configuring, and managing Flexi Kanban boards.
Flexi Kanban Viewer: Assign this permission set to end-users who only need to view and interact with the Kanban boards.
For detailed instructions on how to assign these permission sets, please refer to our article: Assign Permission Sets
Step 4: Managing Licenses in Sandbox and Production
The process for managing user licenses for Flexi Kanban differs between Sandbox and Production environments.
Sandbox Environment
In a Sandbox environment, Flexi Kanban comes with an org-wide unlimited license. This means you do not need to assign individual licenses to users in your Sandbox. As long as users have the appropriate permission sets, they will be able to use Flexi Kanban.
Production Environment
In your Production environment, you will need to assign a Flexi Kanban license to each user who will be using the application. After you have assigned the appropriate permission sets, you must also assign a paid seat license for those users to access Flexi Kanban.
For a step-by-step guide on how to assign licenses in your Production org, please see our article: Manage Licenses
Next Steps: Configure Application Settings
After successfully installing Flexi Kanban and assigning the necessary permissions and licenses, the final step is to configure the application's settings. This will allow you to define which Salesforce objects are available for creating Kanban boards.
To learn how to configure these settings, please see our guide: Flexi Kanban Application Settings.
By following these steps, you can successfully install and configure the Flexi Kanban managed package in both your Sandbox and Production Salesforce environments.
